In the 21st century it is difficult to imagine the work of a major archaeological expedition without the use of specialized search equipment...
After all, scientific truth is often hidden in the details, and a tiny piece of metal - arrowhead, coin, plaque - can contain more scientific information than a monument itself.
For the past two months team eXteam together with the Institute of Archaeology of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and the public organization Center of Military History "Memory and Glory", leads research on the unique fortification facility of late XVIII - early XIX centuries, earthen fortress Adzhider. Bit by bit, we reconstruct the history of the famous military engineer brainchild of Franz P. de Volan.
Adzhiderska castle, which sits on a picturesque bank of the Dniester estuary, honestly fulfilled its historic mission and, as a result, was literally taken apart stone by stone. Not even the ruins.
It is clear that in such time-consuming and tedious business, as the restoration of the monument, every detail, every little thing is important. Coins, buttons, decorative items of military clothing and horse tack, items soldier's life - it all helps to rediscover the lost pages of national history, the reign of Catherine the Great and the command of Alexander Suvorov.
Professional approach to the issue of equipping the expedition with high quality equipment, is paying off from the first days of our stay in the territory of the fortress. Every day research gives new sensations and emotions, forgotten bastions open their secrets, and the exposition of the museum field is regularly updated with new exhibits, detected with instruments provided by D.A.S.
