It is time to talk about the most interesting part of any archaeological expedition - about the findings. Of course, it is still not enough time for scientists to find something truly unique , however, even those antiquities discovered at the start have a lot to tell the researchers. About what? Let's find out...

The first pits, places of which have been identified during numerous preliminary reconnaissance, gave more information than expected. Good luck (which plays a key role in the search operation) has not stinted in the first penetration into the cultural layer, has thrown a lot of food for thinking. Let us not involve prospects of a place, for the assumptions on found material may build as many. Focus only on those findings that have already moved out of the plane, of the assumptions and classifications in the category of reality and well established.

The largest at the moment finds discovered in pits near the №5 is still unknown small stone structure, it is an impressive size amphora. Our experts have dated it to the 4th century BC based on the shape of the vessel found that it was made in the Pontic-Heraclea, and was originally intended for the transportation and storage of wine or olive oil. Location of amphorae near the small stone structure gave reason to assume that scientists have discovered site of the necropolis with a small altar, but after stripping the round stone object, this version has been postponed until such time as it is determined the precise function the unknown object.

Amphora, unfortunately, was found crushed, but almost all the pieces were in place, which allowed our engineers to restore an amphora in its original form. On the photos you can see the entire cycle of the hard work. If the large fragments of specific were not a problem, then finer details - it's a real puzzle that requires careful, long hours of work. At the time of this writing, the amphora was restored up to 80%, remaining amount will be renovated in the near future. Once Field Museum will be located at the camp, Amphora will be available for viewing by our visitors.
