Evening. Nothing was saying trouble, when they heard the first clap of thunder and... it all started! Just when the archeological expedition settled in the tent city, the disaster intervened in the moderate life rhythm of scientists and delivered a crushing attack on vital points of the Expedition 53.

A group of six people who were on duty that night were "lucky" to deal with a raging disaster! They were literally hanging on the frames of tents to avoid being carried away. Saying they got drenched - its like not saying anything at all! A sharp change of weather probably didn’t seem that strong, sitting in a warm apartment, but archaeologists were in the open field (near the coast!) One-on-one with the mad rush wind (which sometimes went off scale to obscene 31 m/s!) will always remember this hydro-meteorological this jump. Both people and equipment were tested for wind resistance. Even though they were fighting for every tent, not each of them survived. Note that frames in tents in advance have been replaced by reinforced (made by archaeological camp, made of the metal bracket and fittings), but even the metal frame could not resist the heavy wind. Only after the storm has ended we were able to take pictures. Consequences surprised archaeologists! The impression was like somebody dropped a grenade! The force of the wind better than any words speaks of the fact that metal utensils in the field kitchen shattered into more than 100 meters at the field! They had to look for kettle, spoons and forks, plates and mugs with metal detectors in the grass half-meter height.

Result of the disaster - four completely destroyed tents and five "wounded". The next day, which was intended to be dedicated for scientific work, but was used for a liquidation of consequences of yesterday's "unforgettable evening". Darning, patching, and collecting everything in one pile - okay. But what could we do with broken frames and tents? Surprisingly, the issue was resolved to everyone's surprise, by itself... One of the locals who was passing by, noticed destroyed tents and offered his help. Not only is the compassionate stranger was a welder, but he also drove his car with a trailer, and retired our "scrap metal" in the studio. A few hours later he returned with completely renovated structures and even refused to take money for it! This earth is full of good people... We do not know whether this "Good Samaritan" will read this story, but in any case - thank you! Odessa region is amazing, not only the scenery but also because of extraordinary, selfless personalities!

Thanks to the emergency work, the expeditionary town was rebuilt in one light day. Some tents completed their existence on the banks of Ovid, but the new one took their place! So the expedition continues!
